Curriculum
The five domains of Montessori curriculum, Practical life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics and Cultural Activities adopt a highly hands-on approach to learning. It encourages children to develop their observation skills using five senses, small and large motor coordination, kinetic movement and concrete knowledge. PMK complements the Montessori Language and Culture with fun and creative group activities. These holistic activities integrate Creative Expression, Social Emotional and Gross Motor Skills development.
Montessori Programme
5 Domains

Practical Life Exercises involve tasks children do in their daily lives They learn to work at a task from beginning to end. Besides fine motor skills, these exercises help to develop self-discipline, confidence and concentration.

Sensorial materials help children develop cognitively by touching, seeing, smelling, tasting, listening, and exploring and ‘playing’ with the specially designed materials. These materials have built-in feedback to show when errors have been made, allowing children to be more independent.

The Mathematics materials help children build strong mathematical foundation by allowing them to work with concrete materialsand prepare children for the gradual transition to abstract thinking.

Language is woven into all parts of the program. The children learn that words are made of sounds, and each sound has a symbol. After knowing the sound and symbol for each letter of the alphabet, they begin to build words. We adopt a multi-sensory approach that combines phonics, stories and language experiences to bring meaning to the learning of reading and writing.

Cultural activities include fun and meaningful projects which allow children to explore and discover the world around them through science, geography and history. Activities include identifying continents, countries, oceans, places, people animals, plants etc.

Language Arts and Literacy
We are known for our engaging Communicative Arts, Language & Literacy programme which comprises creative, fun and literature-based activities that are specially designed to groom our children to be independent learners and confident communicators in the 21st century.
Dramatic Play
- To The Rescue
To enrich their understanding about what fire fighters do to help the community, the Nursery children were engaged in a dramatic play about a kitchen that caught fire. In this story, the fire fighters put out the fire and even rescued the family friend’s cat. Read on to find out what happened.

Your child will develop very strong Mathematics foundation by working with the Montessori Concrete Materials. The curriculum is designed to provide a systematic progression of Maths concepts from simple to complex and concrete to abstract.
Montessori Culture/Discovery of the World
Education is not filling of the pail, but lighting of a fire
Our Montessori Culture/Discovering About the World curriculum provides a wealth of developmental opportunities. Cognitive development is stimulated as children make predictions and investigate. Fine motor skills are honed when children participate in hands-on activities. Socio-emotional development is encouraged as children work together in sharing materials and to problem-solve. Lastly, children learn best when all their senses are activated as they construct knowledge through rich and engaging experiences of the world around them.
